If you're looking for a truly magnificent Pauillac or one of the best wines the earth has produced, look no further. The word impeccable coud be used to describe this wine without touching on anything of its truly special nature. It possesses a haunting beauty and harmony of flavours with blackberry, black cherry, espresso, leather, tobacco, olives, loam, smoke, spice; the list of aromas goes on and on. This wine is so complex and layered that you have to taste it to believe it. Robert Parker describes it as carrying "incredible concentration, full body, fabulous length, and is - well - perfect", not unlike Lisa Perrotti-Brown of the Wine Advocate who said whilst reviewing this bottle that she had "no alternative but concede perfection".
Although this wine will drink beautifully now it may continue to evolve and mature until at least 2045. Château Mouton-Rothschild is renowned for its labels which are designed by famous contemporary artists such as Picasso and Dali. This label features a painting by the Haitian Bernard Séjourné.
