Robert Parker has declared this 2009 vintage of Château Bernadotte as the best wine to date from this estate although something of a sleeper. He described it in the following terms: "Juicy, succulent, cedary black currant fruit intermixed with licorice, herbs and spice box are very pure, authoritative and substantial. Dark ruby/purple, medium to full-bodied and delicious." Who are we to argue with the world's most authoritative wine critic? All we would add is that these half-bottles are the perfect size for one person dining alone or for a couple enjoying both fish and meat courses for a celebration dinner. Cellar for ten years or slightly longer.
